This slab belonged to a Kauri log milled over 100 years ago! It was lost on its way to the mill on a barge in a Whangarei river, as many did. It was floated two years ago with it’s original markings still very visible, it’s been preserved in the muddy waters. The copper deposits give it its unique coloring. It now lives another life.
